Our Story
Our story began in 2018, when a group of friends from Toronto decided to take a trip to the Caribbean to explore its culture, history, and beauty. Little did they know that their journey would change their lives and inspire them to make a difference.
During their trip, they witnessed the devastating effects of poverty, inequality, and natural disasters on the people and the environment. They also saw the resilience, generosity, and hope of the local communities. They felt a strong connection and a sense of responsibility to help them in any way they could.
They decided to start a relief campaign to collect and distribute essential items, such as food, water, clothing, and hygiene kits, to the affected areas. They also partnered with local organizations and volunteers to provide medical care, education, and psychosocial support. They named their initiative Maple Relief, after the symbol of their home country and their desire to spread sweetness and warmth to the world.
Since then, Maple Relief has grown into a registered charity that operates in several countries across the Caribbean, Latin America, and beyond. We have conducted multiple visits to Mexico, Guyana, Trinidad, and various other islands, delivering humanitarian aid and implementing development projects. We have also responded to emergencies and crises, such as hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, and pandemics, providing lifesaving assistance and recovery support.
